Carter was leaving to go turkey hunting on Monday when the fall happened.

Former US President Jimmy Carter was hospitalized on Monday following a fall at his home in Georgia, according to a statement by the Carter Center.

Carter, 94, was said to be "recovering comfortably" at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.
