Daniel Craig Ankle Injury Suspends "Bond 25" Filming

Daniel Craig suffers injury on the Bond 25 set

Production on Bond 25 has reportedly come to a halt after Daniel Craig suffered an injury on set.

According to an unnamed source for The Sun, Craig "was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly".

The insider said: "He was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle".

"As you'd expect he was also pretty angry that it had happened".

Even now though it hasn't been officially stated by anyone, many seem to believe that Bond 25 will be Craig's final turn in the tuxedo, and on-set injuries probably help convince him to hang it up. "He threw his suit jacket on the ground in sheer frustration", said the source. Craig had two teeth knocked out during his first stunt scene for his Bond debut in "Casino Royale"; sustained a number of injuries, including slicing off the tip of a finger and tearing a shoulder muscle, on "Quantum of Solace"; and injured his knee during a fight scene for his most recent outing as 007 in 2015's "Spectre".

The next instalment in the Bond film series was scheduled to begin shooting at its second location, Pinewood Studios in London, at the end of the week, but those plans have reportedly been canned as a result of Craig's injury.

Bond 25 is released in United Kingdom cinemas on April 3, 2020.

Bond's arch-enemy will be played by Oscar-winner Rami Malek, who starred as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
