Texas police officer fatally shoots woman heard on video shouting, 'I'm pregnant'

Facebook A graphic video shows a police officer in Baytown Texas fatally shooting a woman who can be heard in the video saying she is pregnant

The shooting happened late Monday in Baytown, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) east of Houston.

Turner's sister, Antoinette, confirmed to KPRC that her relative was the dead woman.

"During the course of the attempted arrest, the female began struggling with the officer, which forced the officer to deploy his Taser", Baytown Police Lt. Steve Dorris said. Whether it means walking through a bloody police shooting to help a family find justice or showing the multifaceted talent of the Black Diaspora I write the news.

She said her sister - who has two children in their 20s as well as three grandkids - was on medication for schizophrenia and previously complained that the officer, a neighbor, had harassed her.

Family members were not able to confirm if Turner was pregnant, KPRC said, while police also said they would not know until after an autopsy. A struggle ensued and the officer used his Taser on her, but she allegedly grabbed it from him and used it on him as he was trying to handcuff her. She can be heard on the video accusing him of harassing her, KTRK reports. Moments later he fires five shots, killing her.

"I'm pregnant", are the last words that Turner yells before the officer discharges his firearm.

Dorris told reporters on the scene that he was shocked someone recorded the event.

Dogs with bacterial disease discovered in Iowa
Edward Dubovi, a professor of virology at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, told The Washington Post. Signs of the disease in a dog include infertility, spontaneous abortions and stillbirths.

"This was a very rare moment when the officer actually came upon the offense as it was being committed and captured part of the stabbings on camera", Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore told FOX7. The officer has been "placed on administrative leave", KPRC reported.

The officer's name has not been released, but Baytown police said he is an 11-year veteran of the department.

The shooting is under investigation.

"It's unfortunate that somebody takes a tragic incident like this and posts it on social media", Dorris said. "It's extremely disrespectful for everybody involved".

Raquelle Cuellar, a resident in the apartment complex, told ABC 13 that the woman was often spotted walking her dog in the area. "But that's the day and age we live in with social media".

Since 2015, The Washington Post has maintained a database of fatal police shootings in the United States. "(She) actually tased the officer, which forced the officer to draw his duty weapon and fire multiple rounds at the suspect".
