Trump ups his attacks with Mueller report due Thursday

He unleashed a series of tweets focusing on the previously released summary of special counsel Robert Mueller's conclusions - including a crucial one on obstruction of justice that Trump again misrepresented - produced by Attorney General William Barr.

Those following Mueller's investigation will pore over the report's nearly 400 pages for any new disclosures of contacts between Trump's presidential campaign and Russian operatives who interfered in the 2016 election, as well as evidence that the president sought to obstruct justice by interfering in the probe.

That includes possible obstruction of justice. Mueller turned over a copy of his confidential report to Barr on March 22, ending his 22-month-long inquiry.

In a letter to Justice Department leaders dated March 27 but made public only today, Nunes and Representative Adam Schiff, D, cited laws that entitle the Intelligence Committee to review such information.

The report will detail indictments by Mueller of two Kremlin-backed operations to influence the 2016 election: one against a St. Petersburg-based troll farm called the Internet Research Agency accused of waging "information warfare" over social media; and the other charging Russian intelligence officers with hacking into Democratic Party servers and pilfering emails leaked to hurt Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

While Mueller did not find a criminal conspiracy with Russian Federation, according to Barr, there is a chance the report will detail behavior and financial entanglements that give fodder to critics who have said Trump has shown a pattern of deference to the Kremlin.

‘Remember Sodom And Gomorrah!’ - Protester Interrupts Buttigieg Event
Despite the hecklers, Buttigieg reportedly drew some of the largest crowds in Iowa in the Democratic primary to date. Buttigieg, who married his partner Chasten this year, addressed the commotion caused by Terry.

Hasen said the full report might open up some big questions about the attorney general and his actions after receiving Mueller's findings. Two days later, Barr released a four-page letter summarizing what he said were Mueller's primary conclusions.

But Mueller himself took no stance on the weight of the evidence of obstruction, Barr noted, raising doubts over whether Trump had truly been exonerated by the report. The Mueller investigation cast a cloud over the presidency of Trump, a Republican. The report could provide new information that could prompt further investigations or even consideration of impeachment proceedings, a tricky political calculation, since Mueller did not conclude there was collusion or obstruction. "And that's for Congress to judge whether the president obstructed justice or not, and the public ultimately". Trump and Republicans have argued that the Russian Federation investigation was tainted early on by anti-Trump bias in the FBI and Justice Department.

"He is not the attorney general of Donald Trump".

"I think spying did occur", Barr said.

Prosecutor Andrew Weissmann told a judge in February that an August 2, 2016 meeting between Manafort and Konstantin Kilimnik, a consultant Mueller has said has ties to Russian intelligence, "went to the heart of" the special counsel's investigation.

The FBI investigators obtained a spy warrant to monitor former Trump-campaign associate Carter Page.
