Google, Huawei to Pay $10 Million Over Faulty Nexus 6P Phones

Google, Huawei to Pay $10 Million Over Faulty Nexus 6P Phones

To make matters even worse, there is also a battery drain issue that makes it impossible for people to use their Nexus 6P on a daily basis. For instance, Nexus 6P users in the United States who purchased the device on or after September 25th, 2015 would be eligible to claim reimbursement. It seems that the owners of the Nexus 6P are going to get justice because Google and Huawei have made a decision to settle the class-action by paying up to $400 to eligible Nexus 6P owners.

The class action settlement is based in the United States, so unfortunately only USA buyers will be eligible for the possibility of getting a rebate. The company will be paying a total amount of $9.75 million.

Although the Nexus 6P was undoubtedly a success in terms of sales, owners of the smartphone ran into trouble when an update sent the device into a never-ending "bootloop". Similarly, users who faced the alleged battery drain issue and submit documentation of the issue are suggested to receive up to $150 (roughly Rs. 10,400). Now, Google and Huawei have preliminarily agreed to settle a class action lawsuit with compensation.

World's largest plane makes first flight over California
Stratolaunch , the world's largest aircraft type by wingspan, has taken off on its maiden flight on Saturday. It features twin fuselages - sort of the aeroplane equivalent of a catamaran - that span 72.5 meters long.

There are two issues at the crux of the lawsuit. However, note that there's no website yet for you to file a claim - the courts need to approve everything first, which should happen in the next month or so. Notably, a bunch of Nexus 6P users reported the issues of the boot loop and battery drain in the year 2016, as per a few reports. While those who get a Pixel XL in a previous warranty exchange program would just only be entitled for compensation of up to $10. This time around, though, as long as you can prove you were impacted by these issues (perhaps by providing documentation of email support requests), you could take home up to a whopping $400. If you're unable to submit the proper documentation, it looks like the most you'll receive is about $75.

The lawsuit alleges that owners of borked devices were "stonewalled" by Huawei, which blamed the Google software, and claims that both firms breached the Nexus 6P's warranty because they were aware of the issue and did nothing to fix it.
