Ireland Defy Wales With Roof Request Ahead Of Epic Six Nations Clash

Johnny Sexton of Ireland looks dejected

The Six Nations match between Wales and Ireland will be played under an open roof at the Principality Stadium on Saturday, despite bad weather forecast in Cardiff.

Gatland - who became the first coach to achieve three Grand Slams in Five or Six Nations history - refused to take any the pats on the back for the success.

Ruthless Wales sealed a record third Grand Slam under departing head coach Warren Gatland with an emphatic 25-7 victory over lacklustre Ireland at a raucous Principality Stadium.

Gatland, who steps down after the World Cup later this year, still tried to suggest they could creep in to the World Cup unnoticed but fell short.

The hosts produced a try after 69 seconds by Hadleigh Parkes off an expert chip by Anscombe, and Wales forced penalties from far and wide that allowed Anscombe to sink Ireland's hopes of retaining the championship.

The outcome was never in doubt once Anscombe and Parkes combined to cut Ireland open after just 70 seconds, with the visitors' only points coming from Jordan Larmour's 80th-minute touchdown that his fellow replacement Jack Carty converted.

Diet-induced changes favor innovation in speech sounds
They also found that labiodental sounds occurred accidentally when trying to make other speech sounds in the overbite model. Although languages around the world vary greatly, some share similar speech sounds.

"There's been a request from Wales that in the interest of the quality of the game and the very poor weather forecast that the roof be closed", said Schmidt.

A previous Welsh Grand Slam winning scrum-half has enjoyed a nice afternoon.

The 2018 Six Nations champions surrendered their title to Wales in underwhelming fashion. For that game, the roof will remain open at Ireland's request. Dan Biggar replaced him, with Anscombe moving to full-back and Liam Williams switching to wing duties.

"We'll be first to take our hats off the acknowledge the performance that Wales put in today and then we'll reflect, rebuild and go forward". They'll be gracious in defeat because Wales did a super job.

It was a day when they rose to the occasion majestically, inspired by a number of world-class individual displays, but none more so than Anscombe's as he came of age as a Test match performer.
