November trial date set for Trump confidant Roger Stone

President Trump's longtime adviser and self-described dirty trickster's trial is scheduled to start November 5 and is likely to last about two weeks, Jackson said, according to CNN.

Roger Stone, an associate of President Donald Trump, leaves the U.S. District Court, after a court status conference on his seven charges: one count of obstruction of an official proceeding, five counts of false statements, and one count of witness tampering, in Washington, Thursday, March 14, 2019. He was released on bail shortly after his arrest.

The trial is set nine months from now partly because of the amount of evidence Stone's team must piece through and may argue about before the trial.

"We could pile it as high as the Washington Monument twice", Stone's lawyer Robert Buschel told Jackson.

In a seven-page filing and 120 pages of emails and documents submitted at the request of Judge Jackson of Washington, attorneys for Mr Stone acknowledge that the gaffe could land him in jail if the judge finds he violated a gag order in his case barring him from feeding prejudicial pretrial publicity.

DID YOU KNOW: Mississippi State has made 8.5 3-pointers per game this season, which is second-best among SEC teams. Robert Woodard II (Columbus) and Aric Holman chipped in nine points apiece to fuel Mississippi State's bench.

Judge Jackson was visibly frustrated about not being forewarned and expressed doubt about defense attorneys' excuse that telling her about the book would have been "awkward". At other court appearances, prosecutors from the US attorney's office had spoken on behalf of the government.

When the book was initially published, it was called "The Making of the President 2016". They hadn't raised the issue with her at the hearing.

"Any violation of this order will be a basis for revoking your bond and detaining you pending trial", Jackson warned during the February court hearing. But this is not baseball. This came after there was discussion over whether Stone had mislead the courts by releasing his book with an introduction that attacks the Mueller investigation. "Clearly, I was targeted for strictly political reasons".

Stone appeared stoic as his attorneys discussed timing for filing motions in the case.
