How you can help victims of the Christchurch mosque attacks

Police in Christchurch New Zealand after shootings at two mosques

"The New Zealand Jewish Council has no adequate words to describe how sickened and devastated we are by the coordinated attacks on Christchurch mosques today", Stephen Goodman, the president of the New Zealand Jewish Council told the Jewish Chronicle.

Nearly $1 million has been donated to two crowdfunding initiatives in support of New Zealand shooting victims in fewer than 24 hours since the incident, the New Zealand Herald reported Friday.

Charity crowdfunding page Givealittle has raised nearly $2m AUD for the families.

"Let us take this opportunity to show our solidarity with the victims and encourage love, tolerance, and unity", the fundraiser's appeal page says.

Tso says donation volumes have reached such high levels that there have been technical issues with the givealittle site. One is for money that will go to the NZIIC - New Zealand Islamic Information Centre.

The strategy of gathering influential streamers to promote a game is a common one, and no one can deny that it's not successful. At the time, though, I was not aware of exactly how much EA was paying streamers like Ninja and Dr.

Forty-nine people were killed in the shootings, described by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern as a "terrorist act" and "one of New Zealand's darkest days".

More than $2 million has been raised from more than 31,000 donors on a givealittle page in support of Christchurch shooting victims. "Tickets will be refunded in full to the card that they were purchased with", Bryan Adams said on his twitter.

New Zealanders and people from all over the world continue to donate to the victims and a number of vigils are being organised across the country. New Zealanders in the United Kingdom also organized vigils, attended both by Kiwis and United Kingdom citizens. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn attended an event near an East London mosque. "We All stand with our Muslim friends and families". NZ is a place where every ethnic group has the freedom to worship their Faith. We offer our deepest condolences. "I count on everyone involved in this crime to receive their deserved punishment".

In the wake of Friday's terror attack on two Christchurch mosques that took the lives of 49 people and injured at least 40, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh is working to reciprocate the support that Pittsburgh's Jewish community received from Muslim groups in its own time of need. The suspect, self-identified as Brenton Tarrant, is in police custody.
