Adidas launch Game of Thrones-inspired running shoes

And now our watch begins: HBO has finally released the run times and air dates for the final six "Game of Thrones" episodes.

We knew from a previous leak that the last few episodes would be way longer than usual, but to see HBO go all-out for the finale is heartening - after all, Game of Thrones season 8 needs to give us an vast amount of closure after all these years. However, the third episode and onward leap into cinematic territory with the final episodes pushing nearly an hour and a half each.

Earlier in the week, fans of the show were able to sleuth their way around the cable network's digital schedule to get an idea for what "movie-length" actually means for each installment of the abbreviated season, and, as it turns out, they were pretty accurate. The first two will clock in at just under an hour, while the final four will exceed the episodes' usual length and come in at just under the 90-minute mark.

Interserve to go into administration after rescue deal rejected
Interserve said: 'The board of directors of the company is convening an urgent board meeting to consider its options. It would have resulted in existing investors seeing their holding slashed to just 5 per cent.

Episode 3 on April 28 will be the longest of the series, at 1 hour and 22 minutes.

After all these years of fervently following HBO's fantasy series, Game of Thrones season 8 is going to end with a bang - a very prolonged one.

Former HBO chief Richard Plepler, who stepped down from his role in February amid the fallout from the AT&T-Time Warner merger, told Variety that the episodes are closer to "six movies" than television episodes, and that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss had exceeded expectations with the final product. We'll have to wait and see.
