Lori Loughlin 'Never Pushed' Her Daughters Bella Giannulli and Olivia Jade

Lori Loughlin in Full House

United States actress Lori Loughlin appeared in federal court in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday in connection with a massive college admissions scam involving other celebrities and top industry CEOs.

Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, agreed to pay bribes of $500,000 in a scheme that involved cheating on college entrance exams to help their daughters, Isabella and Olivia Giannulli, get into the University of Southern California, according to court documents.

As for Loughlin, she is set to appear in court today for a primary hearing and will more than likely post bail and have to give up her passport too.

Fuller House star Lori Loughlin has surrendered to authorities after yesterday's indictment.

The 19-year-old vlogger was spending the night on the yacht of Rick Caruso, the chairman of USC's Board of Trustees, with his daughter Gianna and their friends during spring break in the Bahamas, according to TMZ. None of the schools or the students has been charged in the case. In all, 33 parents were wrapped up in the college bribery scandal and millions of dollars have changed hands in that time.

Though most of the commentary on social media has been negative, a few people have come to Loughlin's defense.

The couple were among 50 people indicted on Tuesday in a scam to help children of the American elite gain entry into top U.S. colleges. "Some of these parents allegedly paid up to $6.5 million, which is insane", Trevor Noah said on Wednesday's Daily Show. Their alleged scams include everything from faking SAT and ACT scores to paying college coaches to have their kids designated as athletic recruits.

The entire operation was masterminded by William Singer of Newport Beach, authorities said. They were among 50 individuals indicted Tuesday for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. The FBI opted to pick her up at her home instead.

News confirmed that 13 defendants were taken into custody in the Los Angeles area, including defendant Huffman.

"Your mother is a pathetic piece of garbage", one user commented on an Instagram post that Loughlin's daughter, Olivia Jade, posted. Production on Garage Sale Mystery: Three Little Murders started March 4 and wraps up March 21, one week before Loughlin's next scheduled appearance in federal court in Boston on Mar. 29. Andrew Lelling, the USA attorney for MA stated that the people arrested include nine coaches, two examination administrators, one exam proctor, one college administrator and 33 parents.

The Georgetown coach who was arrested "has not coached our tennis team since December 2017, when he was placed on leave after the Office of Undergraduate Admissions identified irregularities in his recruitment practices and the University initiated an internal investigation", a university spokeswoman said in a statement.
