Spike Lee casts Chadwick Boseman in first film since Blakkklansman

Spike Lee Chadwick Boseman

Lindo will be playing one of the four leads (the fifth Blood died in Vietnam), and while it's unclear whether Boseman will be playing Lindo's son, he is expected to play the son of one of the four leads.

Lee had been taking his time in shopping the script to studios, with Netflix coming in aggressively after Lee's "BlacKkKlansman" landed six Oscar nominations, including one for Lee as director and one for best picture. Now, we don't know who those actors will be yet, but prior to this announcement, I'd heard that Lee was courting his old pal Samuel L. Jackson, as well as Don Cheadle and Giancarlo Esposito. "I'm just not going to name them", he tells Abraham in the question period before his Op-Ed went to press.

Scripted by Lee and Kevin Willmott, it's based on an original screenplay by Danny Bilson & Paul DeMeo, with a rewrite by Matthew Billingsly.

Lee was wearing a black hat and a hooded sweatshirt, both emblazoned with "1619", the year which he said "the first slaves were brought to this country, Jamestown, Virginia".

Former ‘American Idol’ Contestant Antonella Barba Accused of Delivering Fentanyl
She appeared this year on comedian Jimmy Kimmel's show for a segment featuring other Idol alums titled "Where Are They Now?" The new charges could result in even more hard time, with each count carrying a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Lee and Boseman are expected to begin work on the project after the award season is over. "BlacKkKlansman" is the filmmaker's biggest domestic box office performer since 2006's "Inside Man".

Boseman has a busy year ahead in 2019 as well, likely returning as T'challa/Black Panther in Marvel's Avengers: Endgame (despite the events of Avengers: Infinity War) and starring in 17 Bridges with Taylor Kitsch and Sienna Miller, opening in July.

Delroy Lindo and Jean Reno are also attached to star in the film. He's represented by Greene & Associates Talent Agency and Management 360.
