Former "American Idol" contestant Antonella Barba is facing federal charges after allegedly working as a courier for a drug ring previous year, according to court documents. The Virginia Pilot reports that Barba had been released on bond from her initial arrest but was arrested on Monday after the federal indictment was levied.

An unnamed cohort used an apartment on Granby Street in September 2017 to stash cocaine, heroin and money, according to the indictment, which also outlines several small drug sales in Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
