Former ‘American Idol’ Contestant Antonella Barba Accused of Delivering Fentanyl

Antonella Barba

Barba, 32, was indicted last week on 11 federal charges, including one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl with the intent to distribute and 10 counts of distribution or possession of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl with the intent to distribute.

Former "American Idol" contestant Antonella Barba is facing federal charges after allegedly working as a courier for a drug ring previous year, according to court documents. The Virginia Pilot reports that Barba had been released on bond from her initial arrest but was arrested on Monday after the federal indictment was levied.

An unnamed cohort used an apartment on Granby Street in September 2017 to stash cocaine, heroin and money, according to the indictment, which also outlines several small drug sales in Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

The indictment, which is heavily redacted, names two men as her alleged co-conspirators. Later that month, Stennett delivered about 7 kilos of cocaine to a conspirator.

'Screen women for breast cancer every year from 35'
The latest U.S. estimates that more than half a million deaths from the disease have been avoided over the past three decades. Women with a family history of breast cancer should have mammogram screening from the age of 35, new research suggests.

Barba was reportedly arrested on Thursday according to the Norfolk Sheriff's Office. Because of that, she was hit with a felony charge and is now being held without bail.

Barba competed on the sixth season of "American Idol" in 2007.

In 2012, she appeared on an episode of Fear Factor. The new charges could result in even more hard time, with each count carrying a maximum sentence of life in prison.

In 2011, Barba was arrested in New York City for allegedly shoplifting in an Urban Outfitters. She appeared this year on comedian Jimmy Kimmel's show for a segment featuring other Idol alums titled "Where Are They Now?"
