Ravens agree to trade Joe Flacco to Broncos

Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens throws a pass against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 23 2018 in Baltimore

He was stoic, tough and resilient. Adding insult to injury, Darren Rovell reports the Ravens paid Flacco $73 million for those 51 games in which he won just 47 percent of his starts. For the Ravens, who had previously stumbled in their quest to find a franchise quarterback to pair with their star-studded defense, that was plenty good enough.

The 34-year-old Flacco has had back issues the last few seasons and his play has slipped.

The two teams are unable to comment about the terms of the deal until March 13th, so we'll know more then what the Ravens got in return for Flacco. He spent 11 seasons with the Ravens and was the MVP of their Super Bowl triumph over the San Francisco 49ers to conclude the 2012 season. The Broncos began to study him during Super Bowl week, sources told ESPN, and agreed to a deal before the combine.

North Korea may have made more nuclear bombs, but threat reduced
Hecker's team had estimated the size of North Korea's arsenal in 2017 at 30, bringing a possible current total of 37 weapons. Flags of the US and North Korea adorn a street in Hanoi, Vietnam on January 29.

One running gag on social media is the question about whether Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco is elite.

If Flacco winds up as the Broncos starter in the fall, he would be the fifth starting quarterback for Denver since Peyton Manning retired. According to Over The Cap's calculator, trading Flacco will free up $28.25 million in 2020 and $24.25 million in 2021.

He was a first-round pick of the Ravens in 2008.
