Man Arrested in Connection to Woman Found Dead in Suitcase

Valerie Reyes 24 of New Rochelle New York

De Silva is a Venezuelan citizen and is reportedly in the country illegally as he overstayed his visa, according to CBS.

The arrest of Da Silva followed the examination of multiple crime scenes and hundreds of hours of surveillance footage as well as numerous interviews with potential witnesses, police said.

The suspect also allegedly fraudulently used Reyes' ATM card, Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry said Tuesday.

"We are confident that the pursuit of justice for Valerie will be successful and we continue to work with the family to provide closure to this tragedy".

Greenwich Police Captain Robert Berry issued a statement last week relaying the community's "heartfelt condolences".

He was described as being cooperative during his interview.

Vernon Geberth, a retired NYPD lieutenant-commander, told the Greenwich Time that he believes the killer crossed state lines, that the suitcase killing was "interpersonal", and suggested Reyes knew her killer and that the killing did not appear to be the work of a serial killer.

Reyes was reported missing January 30 to the New Rochelle Police Department by her family, according to court documents. I kept praying that she would tell me, she would give me hints, a name or something ... "She didn't mention anything or no one specific".

In their last conversation with each other, Sanchez said that Reyes told her she had feared for her life and that she thought someone was going to murder her. "I'm paranoid, mommy. I'm getting anxiety attacks'".

The new Nashville route is an addition to direct flights the airline now offers; direct service is also ... to Vegas, Angeles, Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa, Gorda/Ft. "Folks all the Tri-State will be to advantage an nonstop to of Florida's lovely in gulf".

Sanchez says she desperately tried to pry for more information, but her daughter refused to specify why she felt that way.

Reyes had worked at a Barnes & Noble store in Eastchester, New York, since it opened two-and-a-half years ago, according to the bookstore chain.

"I asked her why do you feel this way?"

Several items were missing from Reyes' apartment, police said.

Reyes was identified last week as the person whose body was found jammed into a piece of luggage abandoned in upscale Greenwich, Conn. Reyes' cause of death was not immediately clear.

"My daughter was a good soul", she said. He then covered her mouth with tape and bound her arms and legs and put her in the suitcase, which he put in the trunk of his auto.

According to The Journal, Reyes had taken her iPad, iPhone, clothes and bed sheets with her when she disappeared.

DeSilva is scheduled to make an initial court appearance in a federal court in NY on Tuesday.
