Lawyers: Rapper 21 Savage released from immigration custody

21 Savage was nominated for two Grammy awards on Sunday, but was still in custody.

21 Savage's journey to becoming a formidable artist in the hip-hop industry began under less than glamorous circumstances.

The 26-year-old rapper was granted bond too late Tuesday to be released right away, immigration lawyer Charles Kuck said by phone to the Associated Press, adding that he anticipates his client will be released Wednesday.

Attorneys representing She'yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, who performs under the stage name 21 Savage, said in a statement he had been released on Tuesday.

21 Savage was taken into immigration custody early on February 3.

The statement reads: 'For the past 9 long days, on behalf of She'yaa Bin Abraham Joseph, known to the world as 21 Savage, have been speaking with ICE to both clarify his legal standing, his eligibility for bond, and provide evidence of his extraordinary contributions to his community and society. "He won his freedom", they write.

You'll also notice a two-tier grille with vertical inserts, the latter also inspiring the skid plate near the base of the bumper. Designers have also made a few adjustments to the interior, centering around a slightly larger eight-inch infotainment display.

21 Savage issued a statement and thanked his fans for their support.

During the ordeal, a variety of rappers came out to support, including Cardi B, Offset, Vince Staples, Metro Boomin and Jay-Z who hired the rap star's lawyers.

The organizations, which include Color of Change, Black Lives Matter Global Network, and AUC Shut It Down say that the rapper is still "unjustly detained by the Trump Administration's Immigrations and Customs Enforcement as they continue to target Black immigrants". And asks for your hearts and minds to be with them'.

While chatting with Seth Rogen for an Interview magazine feature, the "Whole Lot" rapper said that while recovering from his injuries, he spent a lot of time in the studio.

He claims he departed in 2005 to visit the United Kingdom and returned that same year, and lost his legal status in 2006 "through no fault of his own" and was in the process of obtaining another visa when he was arrested.
