Bezos probe concludes mistress’s brother leaked intimate text messages

In a blog post, he alluded to Saudi Arabia's displeasure at the Bezos-owned Washington Post's coverage of the murder of its columnist and Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The brother, Michael Sanchez, is a supporter of US President Donald Trump and an acquaintance of Trump allies Roger Stone and Carter Page.

The media company's executives supposedly asked him to stop his investigation and release a statement saying its coverage was not politically motivated, in exchange for not publishing a new story featuring the scandalous content.

"The brother of Jeff Bezos' mistress, Lauren Sanchez, supplied the couple's racy texts to the National Enquirer, multiple sources inside AMI, the tabloid's parent company, told The Daily Beast", the outlet reports. In the interview, attorney Elkan Abramowitz said the source was "well known to both Mr. Bezos and Ms. Sanchez".

The investigators have since turned over the results of their probe to lawyer Richard Ben-Veniste for review and possible referral to law enforcement. Ben-Veniste had served as special prosecutor during the Watergate scandal.

Bezos on Thursday accused American Media Inc (AMI), the Enquirer's owner, of trying to blackmail him with the threat of publishing "intimate photos" he allegedly sent to his girlfriend unless he said in public that the USA tabloid's reporting on him was not politically motivated. A person familiar with the matter told the newspaper "The New Kingdom" issue fawning over Prince Mohammed was "done to kiss his ass when he came to visit in the hopes he'd invest in the company and it didn't work". In that same tweet, Trump called Bezos "Jeff Bozo". Jobs even wanted to dress up like Willy Wonka - the top hat, velvet blazer and bow tie included. Pity. Jobs would have looked cool in a purple suit. It's a nice feeling...
