Apple's Health Records App Will Let Vets Access All VA Records 02/13/2019

Apple is breaking down the barrier between patients and doctors starting with this news

The Veterans Health API enables veterans to access their health records through an app on their mobile device or in a web browser.

Now it is extending the benefits to the estimated 9 million veterans across the USA, who will be able to access medical information from participating institutions inside the Health app.

Apple has announced that its Health Records feature will soon be made available to USA veterans thanks to a partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

This new collaboration will allow these veterans to view their aggregated medical records - including conditions, vaccinations, lab tests, medical procedures, diagnoses, and more - in one place. The data will be encrypted and further protected with your iPhone passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID.

This could be good news for people who feel they want more access to their medical information in one place. "We're excited to bring this feature to veterans across the United States". "It's truly an honor to contribute to the improved healthcare of America's heroes".

The largest medical system in the U.S., the VA now serves more than 9 million veterans.

Casey finished with a birdie that was worth US$152,000 (NZ$225,000) because he wound up alone in second place. This time , he closed with a 71 and lost to Mickelson's 65, which matched the low score of the final round.

We have great admiration for veterans, and we're proud to bring a solution like Health Records on iPhone to the veteran community.

Doctors' progress notes, documentation of health-care encounters that serve as the backbone of treatment, are not yet on Apple's syncing list.

Given the steady drumbeat of health-care privacy breaches that have occurred in recent years, many veterans may wonder whether or not they can trust Apple's latest offering?

Apple Health Records launched in 2018 and follows in the vein of aborted earlier efforts by large technology companies like Google and Microsoft to create personal health records for patients.

And several government agencies, including the VA, are participants in the federal government's Blue Button program started during the Obama administration, which lets some employees, veterans and Medicare recipients check medical records online.
