Joshua set for US debut against Miller

The fight, which will stream on DAZN in the United States, is not yet finalized.

Team Joshua then turned their attention to a rematch with Dillian Whyte, but "The Body Snatcher" rejected the initial offer proposed to him.

Promoter Eddie Hearn says there is a "strong possibility" Anthony Joshua will make his American debut against Jarrell Miller in NY. Joshua is coming off a devastating seventh-round knockout of longtime contender Alexander Povetkin on September 22.

The promoter also said that he had been in "deep negotiations" with the 30-year-old American boxer, but a fight with Miller was not the initial plan last year. Joshua will be making a seventh consecutive world defence. In his last fight, Miller knocked out then-undefeated Bogdan Dinu in the fourth round on November 17. Joshua is also coming off a knockout win himself, though, a much more significant one.

It was widely believed that Joshua was going to take on British rival Dillian Whyte (25-1, 18 KO's) in a rematch on April 13 at Wembley Stadium. He had never shown much interest in leaving his home country - where he generates tens of millions of dollars for every fight.

Irving had 14 points in as many minutes before leaving, making his only 3-point attempt and all five free throws. But he told the media "it's not fun" after the Celtics blew a 28-point lead in a loss against the Clippers.

It's news that we kind of knew all week really and a fight that most expect to happen at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

Alvarez knocked out Fielding in the third round to win a secondary super middleweight world title on December 15 at Madison Square Garden, where there was a wild crowd of 20,112 on hand.

Joshua's appearance in the USA will be the second time in recent times a British heavyweight has crossed the water to compete in a world title fight.

Everyone has been eagerly anticipating Joshua's next fight after five months out of action.

WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion - was hopeful of having a unification fight with his WBC counterpart Deontay Wilder at Wembley in April.
