The next season, Murray won the role as Mayfield's backup and Kendall redshirted. Now, he appears ready for a fresh start.

Does this put Oklahoma in the market for a transfer quarterback of its own?

With Murray reportedly leaning towards entering the 2019 NFL Draft, Kendall would be the obvious choice to start for the team next season.

Trump calls question on whether he ever worked for Russian Federation 'insulting'
In the inquiry, counterintelligence investigators sought to evaluate whether Trump was a potential threat to national security. Robert Mueller took over the investigation when he was appointed special counsel soon after Comey's firing.

A Kendall transfer coupled with an expected departure from Kyler Murray would leave the Sooners with only two scholarship quarterbacks going into 2019 in redshirt freshman Tanner Mordecai and incoming true freshman Spencer Rattler.

The Athletic reported Friday night that Kendall was not the only Sooners player in the database. But if he leaves, the Sooners offense will be left in the hands of a freshman.

Of the quarterbacks now on the roster, Kendall figures to be in best position to earn the starting job at the outset of next season, but the Sooners could also elect to bring in a transfer to bridge the gap between Murray and five-star prospect Spencer Rattler.

Austin Kendall is 28-of-39 passing for 265 yards and three scores in his limited time under center for Oklahoma.
