Investigators piece together what happened in 3 months of Jayme Closs' captivity

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald

Jayme Closs, a 13-year-old northwest Wisconsin girl who went missing in October, has been found alive.

Closs turned up almost three months after she was snatched by a man who fatally shot her parents so he could kidnap their daughter, according to law enforcement authorities. Patterson quit, saying he was moving from the area, according to the company.

Jeff Closs, Jayme's uncle, said that the teen's return was shocking.

"When we talk to kids, we talk about if someone is breaking your safety rules, you look for someone who is not breaking your safety rules, so Jayme escaped and went to the first person she saw and said that she needed help", Straub said.

The young girl was rescued Thursday walking down a road in a rural area in northwestern Wisconsin after she fled a home where law enforcement says she was kept by Jake Thomas Patterson, 21.

Officers arrested Patterson, 21, minutes later, based on Jayme's description of his vehicle.

"Jayme is the hero in this case, there's no question about it", he said.

The girl had been missing since her parents, James and Denise Closs, were found shot to death on October 15 at the family's home near Barron.

Jayme's aunt, Jennifer Smith, posted the photos on Facebook.

"When she wants information, we'll give it to her; and when she wants to tell us things, we'll take it from her", he said.

Her family have vowed to make her feel safe again and acknowledge her recovery will take time.

"Call 911!" the dog walker told Kasinskas.

Hopefully, we'll get more of an idea about what the story will be about or what characters we can expect to see in MK 11. More information about the game will likely be revealed on January 17, along with the first good look at gameplay.

After Jayme confirmed her identity to the couple, she explained to them that she escaped from her kidnapper's home nearby and was afraid that he may come looking for her. The only link between them is that Jake worked for a single day at the Jennie-O turkey plant where Jayme's parents were employed for 27 years.

"I went to her and she just sort of grabbed onto me and she told me who she was".

Jayme told the couple she had been held captive in a cabin and didn't know where she was or anything about Gordon.

Finding Jayme alive has brought up a lot of emotions for kidnapping victims and families of missing children.

James Kuffel, the township's lone constable, said he knows nearly everyone in the area but has never encountered the Pattersons.

"Jayme is talking. She communicated with our team up there", Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said on Friday.

During the intense, nationwide investigation for Jayme, officials from the FBI, state patrol and local law enforcement received thousands of tips.

"I'm lost and I don't know where I am, and I need help", Jayme told Nutter.

They sought refuse with husband and wife Kristin and Peter Kasinskas while the police turned up. "She said that this person usually hides her or hides her when others are near, or when he has to leave the household". He was being held in Barron County's jail on preliminary charges of intentional homicide and kidnapping, and will have an initial court appearance Monday.

Jayme was hospitalized, and later released and reunited with her relatives and dog, Molly, in Barron.

"She just yelled, 'Please help me! Jayme was the champion that finally said enough is enough", Fitzgerald said.

"Jayme had a pretty good night sleep it was great to know she was next to me all night what a great feeling to have her home", Smith said.
