Rosenthal: The Yankees are now out on Manny Machado, right? Well…

The move is already sparking speculation that NY is bowing out of the Manny Machado sweepstakes.

Former Rockies All-Star DJ LeMahieu has reached a two-year deal with NY that will pay him $24 million, The Athletic and ESPN reported Friday. The deal is expected to be between $22 million and $24 million, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. Given that the Yankees are paying him a $12 million salary over the next two seasons you figure he's going to play just about every day. This will help the Yankees' lineup as it will provide balance.

In 128 games last season, LeMahieu, a right-handed hitter, batted.276 with a career-high 15 homers. He's an elite defender at the position winning three gold gloves throughout his career and he's led all second basemen with 29 defensive runs saved since 2016.

Apple’s iPhone 2019 series will bring no major upgrade
According to WSJ , Apple may also remove 3D Touch from its entire iPhone lineup in 2019. Huawei's Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro, launched previous year , carry three rear cameras.

LeMahieu comes to NY after eight seasons with the Rockies.

LeMahieu is the second prominent addition to the Yankees' infield, on the heels of last week's signing of Troy Tulowitzki. The righty could also slide over to third base late in games, serving as a defensive replacement for the defensively challenged youngster, Miguel Andujar.

While the Colorado Rockies have been slow to sign players this offseason - only landing Daniel Murphy so far - they have now lost one of their most key players in DJ LeMahieu. The 2019 Yankees will also be full of depth as they have valuable assets all around the diamond. They can even flip flop those two at third and second depending on who the coaching staff feels more comfortable with defensively at third. We will have to wait and see, but the Bronx Bombers should be in the conversation.
