Is Amazon developing a game streaming service?

Is Amazon planning Cloud gaming on a large scale

STREAMING VIDEO! THAT'S SO 2018 DARLING.is probably something an Amazon exec said as the seller of everything is reportedly developing its own game streaming service.

But Amazon is apparently already in talks with publishers in a bid to work out what games they could distribute through the streaming service. The sources that spoke to The Information say that while negotiations are underway, no games or even a firm release date could be confirmed making it hard to corroborate the information with the developers themselves.

It makes sense for Amazon to enter this arena, as it's the largest provider of cloud computing services on the planet - ahead of Google and Microsoft by a long shot - and can therefore easily build out the necessary infrastructure to support a demanding game streaming service for users around the world.

Some seals trapped by ice removed from beleaguered town, officials say
The DFO is working on a plan for the seals, including determining exactly where they're located and how many are in the area. The BBC reported that the animals became stuck in Roddickton-Bide Arm after the town's bay and surrounding water froze over.

The Verge also learned that Amazon is hiring two engineers who are being recruited for "Cloud Games", while a third listing for a cross platform game engineer refers to "an unannounced AAA game business".

The games are instead hosted on cloud servers, and streamed over the internet, which means you don't need a powerful computer to play high-end games - or you can use a phone or tablet too. Citing "two people briefed on the plans", The Information reports that the service likely won't launch until next year at the earliest.

Google is also in on the game streaming game with Project Stream, which it tested previous year by streaming Assassin's Creed Odyssey through the Chrome browser, and it has plans to further develop the service with the use of the latest graphics cards from AMD.
