NYC Mayor Announces Health Care Coverage For All New York City Residents

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio launched a campaign against discrimination and harassment

New York City on Tuesday launched a $100 million health insurance program to cover 600,000 uninsured city residents, including those unable to afford coverage and those living in the United States illegally, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

The city's public hospitals already care for low-income New Yorkers, including those without legal immigration status, but too much of that care consists of expensive and inefficient emergency room visits, de Blasio said.

ABC News reports that de Blasio's new plan, NYC Care, isn't exactly a "universal health care" plan, but rather a "guarantee" that city will pay for preventative medical care for an estimated 600,000 who do not have insurance, but live within the boundaries of New York City.

NYC Care will start rolling out in coming months and will take more than two years to be fully implemented, de Blasio said. Unlike most health coverage, however, the care will be available only within New York City. "It's being treated in a language you can understand by people who actually care about your health and well-being".

However, as Harvard professor Abraham Loeb noted, the relay satellite itself could be a source of radio contaminate for the sky. The Aitken basin is regarded to have formed during a massive collision in the earliest history of the moon .

In making the announcement on national television, Mr.de Blasio appeared to be trying to heighten that contrast and thrust his efforts on behalf of undocumented New Yorkers into the national debate over immigration, hours before Mr. Trump was to go on television Tuesday night to make his case for a border wall. But unless this public option is really, really, bad there'll be an awful lot of people who decide that dropping the insurance plan and relying upon the city will do just fine. "In this city, we're gonna make that a reality", de Blasio said during a news conference. And because more people will get preventive care, the city might actually save money, he added. 'This is the city paying for direct comprehensive care (not just ERs) for people who can't afford it or can't get comprehensive Medicaid - including 300,00 undocumented New Yorkers'. "They need health care; their families need health care". "It is the worst way to get health care".

Mayor Bill de Blasio is proposing a plan that would require companies to offer their workers 10 days of vacation time off each year. Mayor de Blasio is an expert at unveiling cloud-castles and proclaiming himself a master builder. The goal is to connect New Yorkers who can not afford coverage or are ineligible for health insurance, including undocumented New Yorkers, with a primary care doctor.

"I have seen first- hand some of the disadvantages that our healthcare system deals to people who are of a different background than their provider, be it racially, culturally or economically".

New Yorkers will be able to access the program through the city's website or by calling 311, and tax increases will not be necessary to fund it, the mayor said.
