‘Overwatch’ Confirms Soldier: 76 As Its Second LGBTQ Character

Ana discovers a photo of a dark-haired man named Vincent and says: "Vincent..." Ana sees one of those photos - 76 with an arm around Vincent, and asks "Still keeping a candle lit for him?" Instead, Jack is left to unconvincingly insist he's happy Vincent moved on and got married to someone else, and that he isn't still pining at all.

Overwatch, a video game in which two teams fight to stand in a particular spot for an extended period of time, doesn't include much lore within itself. Ana and Jack then reminisce about their past and, sadly, talk about how they were never able to really have normal lives.

Naturally, this being the internet, some social media users have complained that this is in some way "pandering" on the part of Blizzard, and that games shouldn't force this, that or the other into their content. Sexuality, politics, relatable real-life matters, etc. "They're very happy. I'm happy for him". Today it incorporated some of that history into Ana's Bastet Challenge, a new set of Overwatch in-game challenges that give players the opportunity to unlock rewards ranging from sprays to a new Bastet Ana skin.

Overwatch has certainly been at the vanguard of character diversity, in terms of gender and sexuality, but despite all the complex backstories for the characters and their world none of it is really mentioned in the actual game, which has nearly no story content. "That's the sacrifice I made".

Venom 2 CONFIRMED, Fifty Shades Of Grey Writer Returns
Following box office smash " Venom ", Sony Pictures is putting the wheels in motion for a sequel to the antihero adventure. Tom Hardy will return as Venom/Eddie Brock and Michelle Williams will reprise her role as his love interest Anne Weying.

Unfortunately, Jack won't be sprinting off into the sunset with his former love, as his relationship with Vincent was a casualty of duty. Ana chimes in, "Relationships don't work out so well for us, do they?"

Vincent was first hinted at back in 2016 with the release of Reflections, the comic that coincidentally also revealed Tracer to be gay.

Lead writer Michael Chu went on to Twitter to thank fans for the feedback on the story and added that both Jack and Vincent identify as gay men.

Tracer, who players meet alongside Soldier: 76 in the game's tutorial, was confirmed as a gay character in 2016.
