Apple Lands New ‘Peanuts’ Content From DHX Media

Peanuts

The new streaming service completed a deal with DHX Media to create shows, specials and short films featured the iconic Charles M. Schulz characters such as Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the entire Peanuts gang.

The deal includes a partnership with Canadian-based kids programming giant, DHX, which nabbed a major stake in the Peanuts franchise back in 2017 and will help produce any of the forthcoming projects. In addition to the long-running comic strip, the characters have been seen in The Peanuts Movie in 2015 as well as specials It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

One 'nebulous' word sends sparks flying over Brexit talks
A video emerged Friday appearing to show the Prime Minister taking on Mr Juncker over his use of the word "nebulous". Labour's Brexit spokesman Keir Starmer, meanwhile, has called for May to move on and put the deal to MPs.

DHX will produce original short-form STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) content that will be exclusive to Apple, including astronaut Snoopy.

The source adds that DHX subsidiary Peanuts Worldwide and NASA recently signed a Space Act Agreement, aimed at inspiring space exploration among the students. The comic strip ran until February 13, 2000, with reruns following. This also lends credence to reports that Apple is looking to focus on more family-friendly programming as they get their streaming service off the ground. The details of this service, such as whether it will be a standalone app or will live on existing Apple platforms like Apple TV, haven't yet been confirmed, but one recent report suggested it will roll out within the first half of 2019, per The Information.
