Tillerson Bombshell: Trump asked me to break the law

Rex Tillerson

Former US secretary of state Rex Tillerson says that President Donald Trump repeatedly wanted to violate the law, describing him as "undisciplined" and uninterested in details.

While Tillerson had reportedly called Trump a "moron" while part of the president's cabinet, he made his views unequivocally clear Thursday when he told the CBS' "This Morning" that Trump was "pretty undisciplined" and "doesn't like to read". His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, didn't have the mental capacity needed.

That led to very public disagreements that undermined Tillerson's ability to speak for the administation overseas and angered the president: "He grew exhausted of me being the guy every day that told him, 'You can't do that, and let's talk about what we can do, '" Tillerson said.

"I'd say here's what we can do", the former Exxon CEO said in a Houston speech.

When he selected him, Trump offered a vastly different assessment of Tillerson than on Friday, saying his "tenacity, broad experience and deep understanding of geopolitics" made him an "excellent choice". "I think he grew exhausted of me being the guy every day that told him you can't do that and let's talk about what we can do".

Though he had been forewarned that Trump was unhappy with him, Tillerson learned of his dismissal through a tweet in which Trump congratulated his new pick for the job, Mike Pompeo, and concluded with a breezy, "Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service!" Or basic civic values, like "The treaty says we can't do that"? The pair's inability to get along was an open secret, especially after NBC News reported in October 2017 that Tillerson had referred to Trump as a "moron."

Milwaukee Bucks Trade Matthew Dellavedova to Cavaliers for George Hill
The deal came together Friday in time for teams to be able to re-package players in other trades before February's trade deadline. Dekker's short stint in Cleveland ends after nine games, where he averaged 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest.

"Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State!" he said.

"He got really frustrated".

Tillerson was dismissed from his post in March, while on a trip to Africa and replaced by then-CIA Director, Mike Pompeo.

He said that the comment was not a criticism of Trump.

President Donald Trump, center, and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, second from the right, listen to remarks by China's President Xi Jinping during a bilateral meeting at the G20 Summit, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Tillerson teed off on Trump Thursday night, saying the commander-in-chief didn't like to read briefing papers and had to be talked out of taking actions that would be illegal.
