Red Sox, Nathan Eovaldi Appear To Be Closing In On Deal

Red Sox ink pitcher Eovaldi to four-year contract

Nathan Eovaldi's first three months with the Red Sox went pretty well, so the pitcher has made a decision to stick around.

According to multiple reports, the starting pitcher has reached a four-year deal with the Red Sox, two months after helping the franchise clinch their ninth World Series title.

Eovaldi's most recent contracts were one-year deals worth $2 million per year. Eovaldi's best work undoubtedly came in a marathon loss in Game 3 of the World Series, which saw him throw six innings of three-hit ball with the Sox having nearly no other option out of their bullpen.

With that, the Red Sox have a almost complete roster four days before the start of the Winter Meetings, when the offseason usually kicks into high gear.

Tyler Perry pays off more than $430,000 in layaways ahead of Christmas
Tyler Perry is in the spirit of the season. "I was trying to do this anonymously", Perry said in a Twitter video posted on Thursday.

"If you told me today we could bring the same club", he said.

Due to his dominance against the New York Yankees and Houston Astros, as well as his relief performance of Game 3 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Nathan Eovaldi quickly established himself as one of the highly sought after free agents this offseason.

Eovaldi, 28, was 6-7 with a 3.81 ERA in 22 games (21 starts) in 2018 but was 3-3 with a 3.33 ERA after being acquired by the Red Sox from Tampa Bay in late July.

Given his history with Tommy John surgery, a couple teams were reportedly reluctant to go after Eovaldi.
