Milwaukee Bucks Trade Matthew Dellavedova to Cavaliers for George Hill

G. Hill

The Wizards would acquire Sam Dekker from Cleveland via Milwaukee and would swap second-round draft picks with Cleveland, with the Cavs sending the Wizards' 2021 pick back to Washington for the Wizards' 2022 selection.

Washington's tax bill will drop from $14.49 million to $9.79 million by trading out Smith's $5.45 million salary for Dekker's $2.68 million salary. Henson, 27, is averaging 5.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Both Henson and Dellavedova, who won a title with the Cavs in 2016, have one year and about $10 million left on their contracts.

It's a win-win situation for all three teams as the Bucks look to solidify themselves as an elite team in the Eastern Conference, the Cavs continue to rebuild and the Wizards add the 3-point threat that they've lacked all season.

Australian guard Dellavedova was a 2015-16 champion with the Cavaliers after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2013, and returns to the squad after two full seasons with the Bucks.

AI will soon decide what you hear in Google Assistant news briefings
As result, expect the new audio experience to deliver shorter and punchier content, with less intro music, and for now, no ads. Google announced today that it is using AI to enhance the audio news capabilities of Google Assistant and Google Home.

The deal came together Friday in time for teams to be able to re-package players in other trades before February's trade deadline.

The move comes a little over a week after the Cavaliers traded Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz for guard Alec Burks and two second-round picks. Dekker's short stint in Cleveland ends after nine games, where he averaged 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest. The center underwent surgery to fix a torn ligament in his left wrist late last month.

In 12 appearances this season, Dellavedova is averaging 1.7 points, 0.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

John Henson has spent 7 seasons in Milwaukee.
