Speaker Ryan Announces When George Bush Will Lie in State

Trump declared December 5 as a National Day of Mourning after Bush died on Friday evening at the age of 94.

"Air Force One will be taking myself and a group of our people back to Washington".

Ryan recognized the late president on Saturday, along with several other prominent lawmakers and presidents. Texas A-and-M says that Bush will be buried alongside his wife Barbara and his daughter Robin in his family plot.

The proceedings will begin Monday when Bush's remains are set to depart from Ellington Field in Houston, en route to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, according to the news release.

After departing the Capitol, Bush's remains will be taken to Washington National Cathedral for a funeral. Bush will lie in state in the rotunda until Wednesday morning. The church will also hold a second memorial service for the former president at 11 a.m. ET Thursday.

The elder Bush was well-respected before, during and after his presidency throughout the nation, especially in Texas which he called home. From there, a funeral train transports Bush to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, the site of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, where he will be laid to rest.
