Samsung First To Announce Smartphone With Hole In Display

Huawei Nova 4 Live Images

Samsung posted on its Weibo account, revealing a teaser poster that confirms the Galaxy A8s will not only be arriving with an Infinity-O display, but also be arriving faster than Huawei's first Infinity-O display smartphone.

The Chinese manufacturer announced the release of smartphone with a round neckline in the active region of the display for the front camera.

As for Huawei, the Chinese phone maker also published a promotional image for its upcoming smartphone and it looks almost identical to Samsung's. The invite shows an outline of what is likely the Galaxy A8s with the much talked about Infinity-O display and a tagline that reads "Realm Galaxy". Similar is the case with the recent Wi-Fi Alliance certification for the Galaxy A8s. Previously, it was expected that the Galaxy A8s would launch in January, leaving Huawei in the clear to launch the Nova 4 in December. The Nova 3 features a 6.3-inch screen of FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 409 ppi.

The Galaxy A8s, which is confirmed for a December 10 launch, has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.

SpaceX's Falcon rocket ditches in water after sending cargo to ISS
Twenty years ago this week, Cabana commanded the shuttle mission that carried up the first USA part of the space station. The apparatus is created to deploy up to 18 nanosatellites after a Cygnus spaceship leaves the station.

Yesterday we reported that Huawei could become world's first handset maker to launch a phone with an in-display hole for the selfie camera, dubbed as Nova 4.

From the launch poster, as well as previous reports, it is believed that Samsung would maintain a flat screen with Infinity-O, that replaces the notched displays seen on many flagships. The phone is said to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack as well. Powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 processor (four 2.2GHz Cortex A73 cores + four 1.7GHz Cortex A53 cores), paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The Galaxy A8s is slated for an early January release in China. The upcoming Galaxy phone is also expected to feature a set of triple rear cameras that will be vertically aligned like the ones found on the Galaxy A7 (2018).
