Beyoncé JAY-Z Usher Pharrell & More Perform for Global Citizens Festival in South Africa

The Carters played a handsome set at the event in South Africa, paying tribute to Mandela with performances of "Holy Grail", "Part II (On The Run)" and "03 Bonnie & Clyde".

They joined the likes of Jay Z, Beyonce, Pharrell, Coldplay, Usher, Ed Sheeran and Cassper Nyovest for the festival, hosted by the South African duo of Trevor Noah and Bonang Matheba.

The Festival is being held to celebrate Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday anniversary and call for an end to extreme poverty across the world.

Mandela was jailed under South Africa's apartheid regime for 27 years.

"The criminals were basically having a field day", said Zikhona Tshona, a reporter for the South African news organisation eNCA.

Fellow concert-goer Ano Shonhiwa, 23, told AFP "there was so much chaos when the concert ended and people wanted to leave". "We do not go by what is posted on social media because the only time something is factual is if we get an affidavit", Naidoo said.
