The woman fell nine storeys to her death from the top deck onto a lifeboat

The passenger who died last week on board a Princess Cruises ship out of Fort Lauderdale has been identified as 52-year-old Almarosa Tenorio of Alabama, who was on a vacation with her husband, according to ABC News.

According to the Aruba newspaper Diario, the female passenger, 52, on the Caribbean cruise of The Royal Princess, was allegedly seen struggling with a man who was choking her.

A spokesperson for the prosecutor in Aruba says an autopsy on the woman has been performed, but those results have not been released. Blood and broken glass all over it'.

Photos on Tenorio's Facebook page showed her smiling and posing on a cruise ship deck.

News of the woman's death made its way around the eight-day cruise.

The woman was choked and thrown to her death from the top deck after a row in the opulent on-board casino.

Kristy Manzanares, 39, was on a family vacation with her husband of 17 years and their three daughters between ages 13 and 22 when she was found killed in her cabin.

"We heard after breakfast time that there had been a murder", said passenger Tricia Schena. One passenger said: 'Ten police officers came aboard. She plunged nine decks, landing on a lifeboat on deck seven.

"This remains an active investigation by the FBI and we have not been provided an update from them", the cruise line said in statement Monday.

The man, described as being muscular, allegedly strangled the woman before tossing her from the ship's 16th deck.

"It was reported to the local authorities who met and boarded the ship upon arrival".

They added: 'We are deeply saddened by this incident and offer our honest condolences to the family and those affected'.

A spokesman for Princess Cruises said the cause of death was not yet known.

At its launch in Southampton, England in 2013, the ship was christened by the Duchess of Cambridge, who became the vessel's "godmother".
