Trump on NYT Pence Loyalty Report

US Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis shakes hands with Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe watched by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Chinese Politburo member Yang Jiechi

"No I don't question his loyalty at all", Trump told reporters Saturday morning, according to a pool report.

White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley reportedly brushed off the speculation on Trump's alleged doubts about Pence, saying the president "absolutely supports the vice president and thinks he's doing an incredible job helping to carry out the mission and policies of this administration".

"He is 100 percent loyal", the President said to a group of journalists before leaving for California.

The New York Times reported that Trump was asking "aides and advisers" if Pence was loyal in recent days.

With most aides being supportive of Pence, Trump himself has shown that he's skeptical about Pence's allegiance. I doubt they had any sources.

Pence added that he and Trump "had a good laugh", presumably about the Times report.

Gordon Hayward willing to make sacrifice to help spark Celtics' offense
There aren't many people out there who figured the Boston Celtics would be 7-6 after the first 13 games of the season. The Celtics have won six straight home games against the Bulls over the last three regular seasons.

But he has also broken somewhat from the president on a few occasions, including during the 2016 campaign in the wake of the infamous Access Hollywood tape in which Trump described how his celebrity status allowed him to "grab [women] by the pussy".

"I can't imagine any President having a better or closer relationship with their Vice President then the two of us", he tweeted. They reported that Trump advisors outside the White House are unsure.

People familiar with Trump's thinking suggested that after loyalists like his longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen, turned on him, Trump has become paranoid about who his allies and enemies are.

During a press conference following the November 6 midterm elections, he asked Pence if he'd be his running mate in 2020.

"Thank you. Okay, good", Trump said.
