Morrissey Appears To Be Punched After Fans Rush Stage During Concert

Morrissey was hit during a live stage performance over the weekend

Singer Morrissey was having such a lovely time at the Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego on Saturday night, that he made a decision to come back out on stage and give the audience an encore performance. One fan made it through, though, and appeared to accidentally make contact with Morrissey's face. Morrissey was singing "Every Day Is Like Sunday" when a few concert attendees stormed the stage.

Regardless, what a awful event!

It went down at the San Diego Symphony Hall, as the singer was about to do an encore at the end of his performance.

The man who struck Morrissey was taken off stage in a chokehold, the website report said. Fans reportedly waited to see if the star would return to finish out the encore, but soon realized that the concert was over and left.

We've been trained to disbelieve all things, and to have doubts in the reporting of and even the video capture of events. CNN , she said, was irresponsible to suggest the president was to blame for a pipe bomb sent to the outlet in October.

The tour's United States leg was completed with this incident; next up is a visit to Mexico and two concerts at the National Auditorium on November 22nd/23rd. "Trying anything they could do to jump onstage and touch him, or hug him", Morrisey's representative Peter Katsis explained.

He added, "Morrissey's fans are not malicious".

TMZ posted a short video of the attack that showed several fans rushing the stage as security fended them off.

Today, Morrissey's manager released a statement on Facebook regarding the incident, claiming that "nobody tried to punch" the singer.
