Mazda teases its all-new 3 ahead of Los Angeles debut

A teaser photo accompanying the announcement suggests Mazda will reveal both the sedan and hatchback variants at the LA show, with a debut presumably scheduled for November 28.

As we thought, the Mazda3 will take styling cues from the Kai concept and embody the Kodo design language.

The automaker confirms that the next Mazda3 will sit on the Skyactiv Vehicle Architecture, which should improve driving dynamics.

The new 3 is based around a new version of the company's "Skyactiv" vehicle architecture, announced with the Kai concept a year ago, and promising a "considerably quieter and more comfortable ride".

Fossil Sport watch announced with Wear 3100 and ultra lightweight body
Under the hood, the Fossil Sport comes with a built-in heart rate sensor , GPS , and NFC for payments with Google Pay. There's also a new battery saving mode, bringing an additional two days of telling the time in an "ambient mode".

Mazda has also said the new car's "fundamental performance attributes have been raised to a new level".

The new generation of Skyactiv engines which will be used is called X, or more officially Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SPCCI) Skyactiv-X. We had the chance to drive early prototypes, and they came in both automatic and manual versions.

Now we know exactly when that will happen, as the Japanese carmaker has confirmed the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 30-December 9) as the venue for the world debut of its new compact models.
