Fantastic Beasts European premiere in Paris

Redmayne teases 'jaw-dropping secrets' of Fantastic Beasts sequel

The moment that Harry Potter fans have been waiting for is finally here!

An old Harry Potter favourite is coming back. but why?

The second new adventure in JK Rowling's Wizarding World, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, picks up where the first film left off, with young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlisting his former student and magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to help thwart the plans of the evil and unsafe Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp).

The cast list for the second film, The Crimes of Grindelwald, was recently released and it included someone rather unexpected: Professor McGonagall. Is this a classic case of J.K.Rowling meddling with the beloved franchise from beyond the grave?

Minister Kadambur Raju warns Murugadoss to remove offensive scenes
The movie which has successfully minted 100 crores within two days of opening is getting a mixed reaction from the public. On Thursday, some party workers tore posters and banners of the movie in front of theatres in Madurai and Coimbatore.

The thing is, though, Crimes is set around 1927. According to a line in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and McGonagall's bio on the Pottermore website, the Transfiguration professor left Hogwarts in 1954 before working for the Ministry of Magic for two years.

This is not the first or most significant controversy the film has courted, such as the casting of trash-being Johnny Depp, or the weird, potentially insensitive casting of Voldemort's snake. This video also shows some new footage from Fantastic Beasts 2 that really hones in on the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, including Dumbledore alluding to his romantic love for the evil wizard.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is released on November 16.
