Could Bryce Harper be a fit for the Red Sox?

Report: Bryce Harper Turned Down $300 Million Contract From Nationals

With Harper filling out the lineup, the Phillies have the potential to have a potent offense on paper. Just how big his contract will be remains to be seen; however, he's already turned down a massive deal.

The Nationals offered Harper a 10-year, $300 million contract with no opt-outs on September 26, which the outfielder turned down.

Harper, 26, was selected No. 1 overall by the Nationals in the 2010 MLB Draft and made his major league debut in 2012.

The total worth of Harper's next contract will largely be determined by its length, but the six-time All-Star is expected to ink a deal worth at least $31 million per year, according to Spotrac.

While Harper rejected the Nationals' initial offer, he can still choose to re-sign with the team. Though it feels unlikely that he'll have a better season than his 2015 National League MVP season - a season in which he hit.330 with 42 home runs and a staggering 9.3 fWAR - many of his best career years should still be in front of him.

It's always been thought that the Nationals will not be able to out-spend the likes of the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers for Harper's services in 2019 and beyond.

CVS Health reports good financial results in Q3
At third is Northern Trust Corp, which stood pat with 15.16M shares, a 1.28% position in CVS Health Corporation , worth $975.66M. Several salient technical indicators of CVS Health Corporation are now starting to make their way into the trading conversation.

Rosenthal's sources say the Cardinals are more interested in corner infield help than adding another outfielder, and they may explore the possibility of trading for Arizona Diamondbacks star Paul Goldschmidt.

We may not find out anything in the next couple of weeks, either.

Harper will enter the open market as one of the most sought-after free agents in recent memory.

The Dodgers offered Puig in a trade, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, but the two sides could not strike a deal.

That Nationals offer may be off the table in its current form, but Boras rarely lets a high-spending team drop out of the race for a high-priced client. And the Nationals will have to prepare for the very real possibility that they may lose their superstar.
