The Breaking Bad universe has more stories to tell

AMC's upcoming Breaking Bad movie will reportedly follow Aaron Paul's Jesse Pinkman after the events of the series finale.

Besides Paul's return, other details - namely, will the film see Bryan Cranston reprise his iconic role as Walter White? - are yet to emerge.

The title is supposed to be Greenbriar, though it's unknown whether it's a working title. But the Albuquerque Journal got a scoop this week when they confirmed, through the New Mexico Film Office, that a movie called Greenbrier is headed into production in the area early next year.

"Breaking Bad" revolved around White, a stressed high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with lung cancer.

If the news is indeed to be trusted, it leads us to wonder what sort of form a Breaking Bad movie would take.

There's always been talk - or at least hope - that Vince Gilligan would bring the show back for some sort of final run dealing with the aftermath of the original finale, but as the years go by, it's looked less and less likely.

Passengers delay flight over pungent planeload of durian
Eventually, all the passengers were asked to leave the plane as workers unloaded the reeking cargo. Sriwajiya Air later said the airline was well within its rights to carry the stinky fruit in cargo.

The sources say that Gilligan may direct the movie, and he'll be writing it as well as executive producing. You'll no doubt recall that while Jesse escaped, speeding away and laughing maniacally, Breaking Bad main character Walter White (Bryan Cranston) died from a gunshot wound.

Breaking Bad - the movie - is coming. "Absolutely. If Vince Gilligan asked me to do it, sure, absolutely", Cranston said. At least a couple of the characters who were not completed, as far as their journey. We don't know if it's a continuation of the original series, or a prequel, or a spinoff.

The Breaking Bad movie is rumored to begin filming sometime before the end of 2018.

After the 16-Emmy-winning show ended in 2013, Gilligan created Better Call Saul, which follows the titular dodgy lawyer played by Bob Odenkirk.

Mysteries abound about reports of a Breaking Bad film, but curiosity is indeed piqued. The show has been renewed for its fifth season and is all set to go on air in 2019.
