Ruth Bader Ginsburg Breaks 3 Ribs in Office Fall

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Sundance

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after suffering a nasty fall in her office Wednesday night.

According to a Court spokesperson (via CNN's Manu Raju), Ginsburg has fractured three ribs in the fall. Ginsburg in 2012 fractured two ribs in a fall and remained mum about the incident for several months.

More details to follow ...

If Ginsburg steps down during the Trump administration, the president will choose another appointee, likely tilting the court further toward the right.

Ginsburg has grit and determination, and I only wish she applied that to upholding the plain text and original meaning of the Constitution, rather than toward twisting it to fit liberal Progressive pipe dreams. We all wish Justice Ginsburg a very speedy recovery. President Trump is among the dignitaries planning to attend the ceremony at the court. She is still in the hospital for "observation and treatment".

But she has never missed Supreme Court arguments.

Ginsburg, the subject of a recent documentary on her life, was nominated to the Supreme Court by Bill Clinton, taking the oath of office in early 1993.

She already has hired clerks for the term that extends into 2020, indicating she has no plans to retire.

Asked a year ago if she was contemplating retirement, she said, "As long as I can do the job full steam, I will do it".
