José Mourinho responds to reports of a return to Real Madrid

Antonio Conte to replace Julen Lopetegui

José Mourinho has denied any interest in taking over at Real Madrid saying that he wants to stay on as Manchester United manager beyond his current contract, which ends in the summer of 2020.

The 55-year-old, who managed Real Madrid for three seasons, has been earmarked as an ideal candidate to replace Julen Lopetegui at the Bernabeu, according to a report in Spain.

"All I think about is Manchester United", he said. "I would like to stay after my contract runs out as well".

"My future is here", Mourinho told a news conference on Monday ahead of the Champions League clash with Juventus.

The Red Devils next face Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday, looking to take control of Group H, but will have to do so without Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez with Mourinho declaring unfit. Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Diogo Dalot, Scott McTominay and Phil Jones are also missing.

Mourinho insists Marco Ianni should be excused for his celebrations after he appeared to taunt the United manager seconds after Ross Barkley had scored an equaliser for Chelsea in added time in their 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Gronkowski (back) does not make trip, doubtful vs. Bears
The Bears' tackling wasn't quite as sloppy as a week ago against the Dolphins, but it wasn't very good vs. the Patriots, either. Gordon sprinted down to the one-yard line, where the Patriots scored what turned out to be the winning points two plays later.

United drew 2-2 at the weekend against Chelsea, losing their lead to a 96th-minute equaliser from Ross Barkley, to keep the Reds Devils off the pace and now 10th after nine games.

"If you want to see a dejected coach then don't look here".

He said: "I thought Cristiano is in a level where he doesn't need questions and answers".

"Now they are not doing so much, but last season it was similar and eventually won the Champions League".

"So I hope everybody does the same as I did which is not to disturb a career of a young guy which is probably a great guy, is probably a coach of great potential and I'm not happy with it more than that".

"But I would really like the boy not to go through more than that". You have to let him work.
