Star defensive lineman Nick Bosa will not return this season

Nick Bosa

It has been just under a month since Ohio State star defensive end Nick Bosa underwent core muscle surgery that had put him out of the mix indefinitely. But within a week of the surgery, John Bosa said that it would be November before Nick would even be evaluated, putting his return in question until at least a bowl game or the College Football Playoff.

According to Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch, Bosa has made the decision to shift his focus over to preparing for the 2019 NFL Draft and not return to playing for the school for the rest of this year.

"I wish him well as he moves on to get himself 100 percent healthy and ready for his next chapter", Meyer said.

Bosa is still likely to be the next Broward County prospect to land in the first round of the NFL Draft. But Bosa won't be returning to the Buckeyes regardless. Bosa met with Meyer and members of the Buckeyes staff over the weekend to inform them of the decision. Despite Bosa's departure, Ohio State players were largely supportive of Bosa's decision. I want to thank Nick for the remarkable efforts he gave for this program.

He should be able to participate in the combine along with his Pro Day and any individual workouts with teams if his recovery continues to go as planned.

Vettel labels red flag rules 'wrong' after penalty
Vettel finished 10th in the second practice session as title rival Lewis Hamilton comfortably led the way. Stewards subsequently concluded that Vettel was in breach of the regulations.

Bosa was dominating from the start of his Ohio State career.

Both Bosa brothers earned Big Ten defensive lineman-of-the-year honors.

"One of the best teammates and competitors I've been around", tweeted former Ohio State and current Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard. Bosa had three sacks through three games this season, a number that still stands as second-best on the defense.

Defensive end Chase Young, who was starting opposite Bosa on the Ohio State line, tweeted: "Get money big brotha. love as always".
