There's no God: Stephen Hawking in his last book

Stephen Hawking

He was one of the world's most accomplished physicists despite suffering the effects of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. As a scientist with a near-religious devotion to understanding the cosmos, Hawking sought to "know the mind of God" by learning everything he could about the self-sufficient universe around us.

Published by Bantam Books book answers questions that are frequently asked throughout his life.

"There is no God".

Other bombshells the British scientist left his readers with include the belief that alien life is out there, artificial intelligence could outsmart humans and time travel can't be ruled out.

"No one created the universe and no one directs our fate", Professor Hawking revealed.

"For centuries, it was believed that disabled people like me were living under a curse that was inflicted by God", he adds. "I prefer to think that everything can be explained another way, by the laws of nature", he adds, moving on to speculate about the possibilities of would-be time travel.

In life, Hawking was a vocal champion of the Big Bang theory - the idea that the universe began by exploding suddenly out of an ultradense singularity smaller than an atom. He concluded that there is also no reliable evidence of an afterlife.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Leaked With 10GB RAM & 5G Support
Recently, a new version of the Oppo Find X was leaked with 10GB RAM but it was later revealed that no such device was planned. But the Mi Mix series has been consistently surprising, and can't wait to find out what Xiaomi has dreamt up this time.

The book completed by Stephen Hawking's family and colleagues seven months after his death, provides answers to the questions that the famed physicist said he had been asked most often in his lifetime. To me this means there is no chance of a creator, because there was no time for a creator to exist.

"These laws may or may not have been decreed by God, but he can not intervene to break the laws or they would not be laws". This is the basic belief of religious scholars (about one in three scientists believe in God, according to research) and ordinary people, but not Hawking.

As for extraterrestrial life forms, he writes: "There are intelligent life-forms, we must be careful not to react until we evolved a little more". "We need to be wary of answering back until we have developed a bit further".

"Reverse the flow of time can not be ruled out, according to our modern understanding, he says, and adds: - In the next hundred years people will be able to travel anywhere in the Solar system".

"I want to share my excitement about these big questions and my enthusiasm about this quest", says Hawking in an excerpt of his final book.

In his last Reddit post before his death, which took place as a Q&A on the forum, Hawking said he feared Earth would have a "catastrophic ending" in the near future and that it he thought it could be due to smart robots that might take over the planet.
