Google Maps Gets Real Time Journey Tracking on iOS

Google Maps makes it easier to share your ETA with loved ones

The feature was recently updated for Android users back in August and now it can be used from an iPhone, as well.

With today's update, Google is also bringing the ability to share your journey progress to third-party apps, on both Android and iOS.

To enable the feature, you must tap on the "up arrow" button and then on "Share trip progress", after you have started navigating to a destination on the app. With this feature you can share your ETA with your loved ones and keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

Tesla: Tesla secures land in Shanghai for its first factory outside USA
However, Tesla has said that it will take 2-3 years to construct it, and another 2-3 years to get it running at full potential. Much of the cost will be funded with "local debt" the letter said.

"Journey Sharing" is a feature that the Google Maps team rolled out for Android users a year ago, which allows for folks to share their real-time location with those they approve. A grandparent heading out to a new destination, for example, can be monitored by someone to ensure they get help if lost.

The process of accessing the feature is much the same as it was before. You can also stop sharing manually as well.

As far as the kinds of trips that can be shared are concerned, these are driving, walking, and cycling navigation. Once the journey ends, location sharing is automatically stopped.
