Suspects in Saudi journalist case tied to top prince

WaPo Reluctantly Runs Khashoggi's Final Column

Saudi Arabia has delivered a previously promised $100 million to the United States as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo landed in Riyadh to discuss the fate of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who went missing after visiting the kingdom's consulate in Turkey's largest city of Istanbul more than two week ago.

Mr Trump, who has forged closer ties with Saudi Arabia and the 33-year-old crown prince, said the United States has asked Turkey for any audio or video evidence.

Turkish forensic officers arrive at the Saudi consulate to conduct a new search over the disappearance and alleged slaying of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi, in Istanbul.

Khashoggi, a former Saudi insider who became critical of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, wrote articles for titles including the Washington Post. Western diplomats suspect that the kingdom will also compensate Turkey for its willingness to launch a joint investigation on Khashoggi's disappearance - a payback that could come in the form of large-scale debt relief, strategic buyouts or other arrangements that boost Turkey's ailing economy.

The paper claimed the device captured incriminating conversations between Saudi officials as they brutalised their victim and that Mr Khashoggi can be heard screaming as his fingers are hacked off before he was "injected with an unknown drug".

Turkish authorities say Dr Salah al-Tubaigy was among 15 men present at the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Istanbul, when Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi is believed to have met a brutal end on October 2.

"Here we go again with, you know, you're guilty until proven innocent", he said.

Facebook, MTV team up for 'The Real World' return
A sizzle reel MTV released today captures my hopes and dreams for this reboot-and my disappointment in what it's become-perfectly. It was a reality show back before reality shows were so prevalent, and it grew into a cultural phenomenon.

Saudi Arabia, an oil rich monarchy and staunch USA ally, has long relied on its financial largesse to persuade partners to support its foreign policy objectives.

"I received this column from Jamal Khashoggi's translator and assistant the day after Jamal was reported missing in Istanbul", Attiah said. "Do this outside. You will put me in trouble", he reportedly told the team. Those bearing responsibility for his disappearance must be held to account. "Saudi Arabia, if you're listening, there are a lot of good people you can choose, but MBS has tainted your country and tainted himself".

Pompeo was also tight-lipped after meeting the Saudi leadership in Riyadh, telling journalists he did not want "to talk about any of the facts".

Judge Andrew Napolitano said the Trump administration may have to take drastic action after the suspected murder of a USA legal resident by Saudi agents in Turkey.

Trump denied trying to assist Riyadh in denying their involvement in Khashoggi's death, saying "I just want to find out what's happening". He never emerged, with Hatice Cengiz raising the alarm over the disappearance of her fiancée.

Khashoggi went to the consulate on October 2 to get documents for his upcoming marriage to a Turkish woman while his fiancee waited outside.
