Snow White sends the wrong message about consent , says Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell called out 'Snow White' for normalizing rape culture. Let women sleep

Kristen Bell may be a part of the Disney family, but she does not believe all stories are created equal.

U.S. actress Bell said classic film Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs - which tells the story of the eponymous princess relying on a prince to free her from a curse after eating an apple from a stranger - sent the wrong message to young girls.

The 38-year-old actress and mom of Lincoln, 5, and Delta, 3, told Parents magazine that she had a serious conversation with her kids about the infamous kissing scene in "Snow White".

In the interview, she revealed that every time she would end the story on Snow White, she would ask her girls questions such as: "Don't you think it's weird that Snow White didn't ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple?"

'I say, "I would never take food from a stranger, would you?" "They're really good critical thinkers", Bell said of the things her kids get from her and Shepard, 43.

"When you think rationally about "Snow White" and 'Sleeping Beauty, ' that tell of a 'princess being woken up by the kiss of a prince, ' they are describing sexual assault on an unconscious person", she wrote in Japanese, according to Fox News. "'Because you can not kiss someone if they're sleeping!'" Of course not. Judgement is coming at Bell and Knightley fast and furious on Twitter, and fellow Hollywood star James Woods is leading the charge. Especially Cinderella, as the grieving teenaged prisoner "waits around for a rich guy to rescue her. Or where she got the apple?" she continued. Trump Threatens Military Action If Mexico Doesn't Stop Migrant Caravan
Dwindling in numbers along the way, the caravan totalled around 150 migrants by the time it reached Tijuana, at the USA border. Trump appeared willing to end his new trade deal with Mexico if the caravan was not stopped.

I think The Little Mermaid teaches wrong values: girl gives up her voice to get legs to hook a boy she's never met - using only her looks! She's implying that the Prince is doing something wrong in the story by kissing her.

- James Woods (@RealJamesWoods)I am survivor of abuse and for me as a child who grew up with Snow White, the story made me remember that not all men are abusers. "Don't! Rescue yourself. Obviously!"

"They're stubborn as all get out, but maybe they get that from me. That Snow White?" Woods tweeted with a link to an article about Bell's interview.

"She doesn't know what she is talking about in regards to Disney Princesses", added another.

"Not so anxious that you took a job and a paycheck from Disney", one user noted.
