Orange Is the New Black Ending After Season 7

Orange is the New Black

Taking it in turns to speak, the cast said: "We've got some news".

Uzo Aduba, who won Emmys in both the Comedy and Drama categories for her role as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on the series added: "I'm so grateful for the fun times, the knowledge, the friendships, the love, the family that we have created together".

The news comes as the sixth season, which was released in June 2018, saw one Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) being released from prison, and wife Alex (Laura Prepon) still having some more time in her sentence.

Taryn Manning called the show "an awesome journey, an fantastic experience"; Dascha Polanco called it "a hell of a ride"; while Selenis Leyva said what she will miss most after seven seasons 'is you - the fans'.

Aduba added a special teaser for the upcoming final season of the series, promising a season that fans will never forget. Later, when asked by the New York Times if season 7 would be the last season, Kohanfor replied: "I haven't made a final decision yet, but I'm leaning toward ending it after seven - although the nature of the show is one that can go on and on because you can bring in new people".

Many fans commented to say how gutted they were to hear the news. "This show has been apart of my life for 7 yrs!" The show has run its course, and it's time to let it go.

Based on the book of the same name by Piper Kerman, the critically-acclaimed show is one of Netflix's longest-running and most popular series.

The fifth series was underwhelming for many fans, with co-producer Tara Herrmann attributing the mixed reaction to a writer's room shakeup after the show lost many of its original writers.

Orange is the New Black will be locking the gates of Litchfield prison for good next year.

The newest season of Orange is the New Black has been hijacked by a hacker who's ransoming the series for an undisclosed amount.
