Keira Knightley Has Banned Her Daughter From Watching Two Disney Films

Shiver left Keira Knightley as The Sugar Plum Fairy Eugenio Derbrez as Hawthorne and Mackenzie Foy is Clara in Disneys The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Sitting down with Ellen Degeneres, Keira revealed that she and husband James Righton have banned Edie from watching two classic Disney movies but for very good reason.

Not all Disney movies are off-limits.

"Cinderella, banned because she waits around for a rich guy to rescue her", Knightley said. "Don't. Rescue yourself, obviously".

"And this is the one that I'm quite annoyed about because I really like the film, but Little Mermaid [is banned, too]".

Knightley admitted she loved "The Little Mermaid", especially the songs, but conceded that Ariel's decision to give her voice up to the villain, Ursula, in pursuit of Prince Eric was a bad example for little girls.

Not all Disney movies are off limits for little Edie though.

Indian minister resigns over #MeToo allegations
MJ Akbar's resignation was welcomed by many complainants as well as several women activists and political parties. His resignation comes in the wake of a series of allegations of sexual harassment levelled by at least 16 women.

Knightley followed that up by sharing that her daughter is definitely allowed to watch Finding Dory, which DeGeneres was naturally happy about, since she's the film's star. "'Frozen" is huge, "Moana' totally fine", she shared.

"Of course! There is nothing wrong with Dory", laughed the talk show host. The actress also revealed that little Edie has already decided on a few careers that interest her. Now she wants to be a lion. Hello! But the problem with "The Little Mermaid" is I love "The Little Mermaid". Ellen asked. "Would you like that or does it matter to you if she wants to be in this business?"

"She's so wet with no character [Cinderella], but I'm not going to stop her enjoying a film".

For Halloween, her little girl wants to be a witch, which Knightley humorously described as "boring" and "dull, but cute".

Despite her upcoming role in Disney's The Nutcracker, actress Keira Knightley says she doesn't always let her daughter join in on the princess fun.
