Facebook is testing a feature to let you unsend your messages

Facebook testing 'Unsend' button for Messenger

Facebook is testing an "Unsend" feature for Facebook Messenger.

Tipster Jane Manchun Wong tweeted screenshots Friday of what appears to be the prototype. However, she did not mention what the time limit is.

So far, when a user deletes a message sent via Facebook Messenger, it is only deleted from his inbox so that the recipient can still see the content.

Last spring, following the Cambridge-Analytica scandal, Facebook revealed the company had secretly deleted old messages sent on Messenger from founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

WhatsApp, for example, has an unsend feature that launched past year. You will get the options to delete it or unsend it. With this feature, users could revoke a text if they wish.

The new addition to Messenger's options would differ from deleting messages, which only lets you remove them from your side of the conversation; the recipient would still retain a copy of the message on their side.

The RAC's head of roads policy Nicholas Lyes described it as a "major blow" for motorists looking to make an EV or PHEV their next vehicle.

For now, you can delete messages from your inbox.

The implementation seems to be easy: long press on the sent message will pop up an option to unsend or delete the message. Snapchat added the feature on its app earlier in June. This isn't the first time Facebook breached its user's trust.

The unsend feature will be useful for people who mistakenly or intentionally sent an inappropriate message and want to erase evidence of their misdeeds.

Mark Zuckerberg caused controversy around six months ago. nothing odd for Facebook you may think.

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, already lets users unsend messages on the platform.
