Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 breaks day one digital sales records

Treyarch are working on a fix for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4's emote peeking

Call of Duty's first foray into the battle royale genre with Black Ops 4's "Blackout" mode has been a great success in the days immediately after its release, but that doesn't mean it is ideal. Remember this is raw full game sales worldwide and doesn't include purchases of microtransactions or other digital content. But despite digital sales skyrocketing, physical sales have been the lowest the series has seen in 11 years with them being almost 50% down from WWII.

Activision loves the idea of pushing digital sales for many reasons, especially on PC where the game is exclusive to its fully-owned Battle.net storefront. It also sold double WWII in terms of digital PC sales.

Joseph's INT return for TD lifts Texans over Bills
Sophomore Nathan Peterman entered the game in relief of Allen, completing six passes and even finding Zay Jones in the end zone. O'Brien said Watson's injury did not affect the playcalling and called his quarterback "a fighter".

Until Chart-Track start combining physical and digital sales in their charts - which they've promised to start doing next year - this sort of confusion is only going to continue. "We have shattered multiple digital day one sales records, and the number of people who connected online on day one to play has grown year on year", said Rob Kostich, EVP and GM, Call of Duty. But probably the most important thing is that the community is having so much fun across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout.

We're aware that players have been able to use Gestures (often referred to by the community as "Emotes") to peek around corners in modes where that can create an unfair advantage. The most popular installment in the Call of Duty series has always been Black Ops. In this Reddit post by user "sw3ar," for example, you can see how simply using the "point" gesture pulls the camera back far enough, and for long enough, that the player can see a wide area around the tree in front of them to determine if enemies are charging them.
