Lindsey Buckingham 'sues Fleetwood Mac for $14m'

Us Weekly reports that Buckingham is suing Fleetwood Mac for "breach of fiduciary duty, breach of oral contract, and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage", all in all meaning he believes they did him dirty and he missed out on potential earnings from their current tour because of it.

Lindsey Buckingham is suing Fleetwood Mac after he was dismissed from the band earlier this year.

"I called Irving and said, 'This feels amusing".

Lindsey Buckingham has finally revealed the details of why he was sacked from Fleetwood Mac.

Buckingham notes that he and Fleetwood Mac had gotten together for rehearsals prior to their performance at the MusiCares tribute concert honoring the band's legacy and that "everything was great", though Azoff informed him that Nicks had a problem with a couple of Buckingham's antics from that night, including him getting upset at Fleetwood Mac being introduced while Nicks' "Rhiannon" was being played at the event.

Buckingham was removed from the line-up following scheduling disputes ahead of the band's forthcoming 50-city tour, a jaunt he claims would have earned him somewhere in the region of $14 million. In the past, Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks have cited a disagreement about tour dates and a comprehensive sense of dissatisfaction in the band as their primary rationales for deciding to fire Buckingham, one of the primary creative forces in the group.

Pogba should have kept views to himself - Saha
Pogba was stripped of the United vice-captaincy by manager Jose Mourinho this season after criticising his tactics. Pogba insists he is the ideal go-between for the older players and younger members of Didier Deschamps' squad.

Buckingham included in the lawsuit a copy of an email he sent to Fleetwood in February, begging the band to overcome its differences. "I love you no matter what". As much as I adore (and forever will) Lindsey and all his work with FM, I can't help but like what I'm hearing here.

'For me, personally, probably some of you know that for the last three months I have sadly taken leave of my band of 43 years, Fleetwood Mac.

The suit comes a day after the publication of a fiery new Rolling Stone interview with Buckingham, in which he claims his former lover, Stevie Nicks, was behind his exit from Fleetwood Mac.

The guitarist and singer, who learned he'd been voted out of the group in a phone call with Mac manager Irving Azoff, insists he is still owed money from the band - and now he's going to court to get it. It's fairly standard legal procedure to service the complaint to the parties involved, something that neither Mr Buckingham nor his legal counsel have done.

In April, drummer Mick Fleetwood - who co-founded the group in 1967 with original guitarist Peter Green - told the same magazine the band had hit an "impasse" with Buckingham.

As we reported, though, Lindsey was kicked out before the band started its North American tour.
